What does our lunch have to do with the climate? And what exactly goes into a T-shirt—besides fabric?
Klima-Acker 2.0 is our educational project focused on nutrition, agriculture, and climate justice. It runs from 2023 to 2025 and is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection.
The project centers on three messages that are particularly close to our hearts:
→Food affects the climate—what we eat directly influences global warming. We can actively contribute to climate protection through mindful eating.
→ There’s enough for everyone—if we use the world’s farmland fairly and sustainably, no one has to go hungry.
→ Every bite counts—everything we consume has its origins and changes soils, landscapes, and entire regions.
With a colorful mix of events and hands-on activities, we invite people of all ages to gain a better understanding of the topics of nutrition, climate, and global justice.
Climate Farm Tours offer fascinating insights into the “World Farm”—2,000 square meters of farmland that, mathematically speaking, is available to every person. You’ll learn firsthand what grows there, how much space our food requires, and how that relates to the climate.
The PHD Farm Tour focuses on the Planetary Health Diet—a way of eating that benefits both us and the planet.
We also explore this theme through workshops, seminars, and activities, where we develop ideas together for a sustainable future and even create our own PHD garden beds.
In the event “The Long Journey of (My) T-Shirt,” we trace the path of cotton: from the field through the spinning mill and sewing workshop to our closet—and beyond. In the process, we take a critical look at resource consumption and the social impacts of textile production.
For people working in the food retail or restaurant industries, we offer a course on climate-conscious product knowledge. Here, we cook, assess, and discuss together: What makes a lunch climate-friendly—and how can companies be part of the solution?
And our (online) seminars cover topics such as climate-resilient agriculture, agroforestry systems, carbon farming, or the question of what humus has to do with CO₂ credits—and what terms like “climate-neutral” really mean.
Klima-Acker 2.0 invites you to sow knowledge, raise awareness, and break new ground together—in your daily life, at work, in the fields, or the next time you go shopping.

Since 2022, the Weltacker Youth Council has been working with us—an exciting project that brings young people in Berlin together. They all share one goal: a voice in Berlin’s food policy!
