Presenter: Selina Tenzer
, soil scientist & forest gardener

How can we garden without further straining the climate—and even actively contribute to a more equitable and resilient food system in the process? In this online seminar, Selina Tenzer will provide practical and scientifically grounded insights into the fundamentals and possibilities of climate-friendly gardening.

The focus is on soil as a central foundation of life: How does it remain fertile, store carbon and water, and support healthy plants? Depending on the questions submitted, participants will learn, for example, how composting, in-depth soil knowledge, site-appropriate fertilization, winter vegetables, perennial crops, and open-pollinated varieties can contribute to stable, climate-adapted gardens. The seminar also addresses the role of beneficial organisms, biodiversity, and ecological cycles in the garden.

The seminar combines theory with concrete examples from practice—suitable for beginners as well as experienced gardeners, urban gardening projects, educators, and anyone interested in sustainable food systems and climate justice.

Interactive Format

A central component of the seminar is an in-depth question-and-answer session. You are invited to submit your questions by October 29 to tenzer(at)weltacker-berlin.de so that we can address them specifically and tailor the seminar to your interests and needs. Each seminar will focus on a specific topic of interest.
