Hot summers and longer dry spells pose new challenges for plants and gardens. In our workshop, students will discover how they can make school gardens and urban green spaces more resilient and conserve water.

Together, we’ll explore, research, and build at the Weltacker in Berlin Treptow-Köpenick. Participants will learn how sustainable farming can succeed even under changing climate conditions.

Here’s what the class can expect:

  • Understanding Climate Change

  • The importance of healthy soil for water storage

  • Water-saving irrigation methods

  • Building your own “olla” (irrigation aid)

  • Discovering drought-tolerant plants and sustainable farming methods

The workshop promotes:

  • Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

  • Science education

  • Environmental and climate awareness

  • Independent action

Cost: The workshop is free for everyone
