How can we feed ten billion people by 2050—in a way that’s healthy for us and our planet?

Scientists have developed a solution: the “Planetary Health Diet.” But what exactly does that mean?

First, we’ll learn what the World Farm is all about. Then we’ll explore the Planetary Health Diet and discover what makes it healthy and climate-friendly.

Finally, we’ll plan our own PHD meal and figure out how much space this meal needs on the field.

👉 If interested, the PHD tour can be expanded into an exciting one-day workshop (approx. 5–6 hours) with the simulation game “A Global Framework Agreement for the Planetary Health Diet” by foodjustice.
After the PHD farm tour and a break, participants take on roles from the worlds of politics, civil society, and business in two fictional countries. In the simulation game, they negotiate a global agreement designed to ensure sustainable and healthy nutrition for the future.
At the end, they draft an agreement that serves as the basis for a joint discussion and reflection.

The game is particularly suitable for students in 10th grade and above.

Information about visiting the Weltacker

Our field tours take place in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Since we’ll be outdoors, please wear weather-appropriate clothing—sun protection if it’s hot and rain gear if it rains.

You can take the PHD field tour at our 2,000 m² Weltacker in Volkspark Pankow or at our Ackerlabor at the Späth’sche Baumschule in Treptow. Feel free to let us know in the comments which location you’d prefer.

The Weltacker in Pankow and the Ackerlabor at the Späth’sche Baumschule are accessible without steps. In rainy weather, maneuvering a wheelchair can be a bit difficult—we’re happy to help!

If you have any special requests, such as hosting an online event, or if you’re unable to visit the Weltacker during standard hours, please indicate this in your inquiry.

Costs and subsidies

We want everyone to be able to visit Weltacker—including groups that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the visit. Thanks to funding from the Senate Department of Justice and Consumer Protection, we’re able to offer these tours.

If your school or group can cover the cost of 150 € per tour on your own, we’d appreciate your support!
