Details about the process and content of the educational offer

For High School Students, Apprentices, and Adults

This workshop combines knowledge, hands-on activities, and nature experiences: from the soil where our raw materials grow to the products we apply to our skin every day. Through creative methods, small experiments, and DIY stations, we’ll discover how human health, ecosystems, and cosmetics are interconnected.

The workshop is particularly well-suited for people working in environmental education, the cosmetics or drugstore industry, as well as for students and instructors in the field of personal care/drugstore products.

Content & Focus:

· Cycles in Nature: What cycles exist, and what impact do everyday consumer products have?

· Microbiome & Health: How is the soil microbiome connected to the human microbiome? How can I strengthen my microbiome?

· What’s in our cosmetics? Palm oil, microplastics, paraffins, fragrances—environmental and health perspectives.

· Making your own natural cosmetics: Hands-on DIY stations, simple recipes, and sustainable alternatives.

· Personal Values & Self-Efficacy: Reflection methods—how can we actively shape change?

Context: This workshop is part of a bachelor’s and master’s thesis at TU Berlin. Its impact will be scientifically evaluated through an anonymous before-and-after survey and a follow-up.

Information about visiting the Weltacker

The workshop can take place at our 2,000 m² Weltacker in Pankow’s Volkspark, at our field lab in the Späth’sche Baumschule in Treptow, or even at your location. Please let us know in the comments which location you’d prefer.

The Weltacker in Pankow and the field lab at the Späth’sche Baumschule are accessible without steps. In rainy weather, maneuvering a wheelchair can be a bit difficult—we’re happy to assist!

Please remember to wear weather-appropriate clothing (sun protection / rain gear), as we may also be working outdoors depending on the schedule.

If you have any special requests—such as holding an online workshop, alternative times, or hosting the event at a different location—please indicate this in your inquiry.
