Crop farming and trees—do they go together? Yes! This combination is called agroforestry or the forest garden system.

We’ll explore which foods grow in such systems and how they can help protect our climate. We’ll also discover the benefits and challenges of having trees in a field or in your own garden.

Together, we’ll brainstorm which climate-friendly dishes we can cook with these foods.

Information about visiting the Weltacker

Our field tours take place in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Since we’ll be outdoors, please wear weather-appropriate clothing—sun protection if it’s hot and rain gear in case it rains.

If you have any special requests—such as hosting an online event—or if you’re unable to visit the Weltacker during our standard hours, please indicate this in your inquiry.

The Weltacker is accessible without any steps. In rainy weather, maneuvering a wheelchair can be a bit difficult—we’re happy to help!

Costs and subsidies

We want everyone to be able to visit Weltacker—including groups that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the visit. Thanks to funding from the Senate Department of Justice and Consumer Protection, we’re able to offer these tours.

If your school or group can cover the cost of 150 € per tour on your own, we’d appreciate your support!
