Details about the process and content of the educational offer

For elementary school, secondary school (SEK I and SEK II), and adults

Come join us on an exciting discovery tour of the Weltacker! We’ll show you where our food grows and how much space it needs.

On 2,000 m², we grow everything we need to live: wheat for bread and pasta, soy for animal feed, vegetables, sugarcane, cotton for clothing, and corn for biodiesel. Find out how much land a pizza, a schnitzel, or a döner takes up.

Children, teens, and adults can learn about their own “ecological footprint” here and understand how food, agriculture, and the climate are connected.

We discuss global challenges and the unequal distribution of food, and work together to find solutions.

Information about visiting the Weltacker

Our farm tours take place in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Since we’ll be outdoors, please wear weather-appropriate clothing—sun protection if it’s hot and rain gear if it gets wet.

You can take the Climate Farm Tour at our 2,000-square-meter Weltacker in Pankow’s Volkspark or at our Ackerlabor at the Späth’sche Baumschule in Treptow. Feel free to let us know in the comments which location you’d prefer.

The Weltacker in Pankow and the Ackerlabor at the Späth’sche Baumschule are accessible without steps. In rainy weather, maneuvering a wheelchair can be a bit difficult—we’re happy to assist!

If you have any special requests, such as hosting an online event, or if you’re unable to visit the Weltacker during standard hours, please indicate this in your request.

Costs and subsidies

We want everyone to be able to visit Weltacker—including groups that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the visit. Thanks to funding from the Senate Department of Justice and Consumer Protection, we’re able to offer these tours.

If your school or group can cover the cost of 150 € per tour on your own, we’d appreciate your support!
