For High School Students & Adults
How can I turn my garden into a true climate protection oasis?
We’ll show you how humus is formed, why it’s so valuable for soil, plants, and the climate, and how anyone can actively build up humus in their own garden—or even on their balcony. Learn about simple steps you can take to increase soil fertility while also contributing to climate protection.
We’ll also take a critical look at the topic of “humus certificates”: What’s behind them, how do they work, and what challenges do they present? We’ll discuss what “climate-neutral” means and what risks such systems pose.
Come by and discover how climate protection begins right on your doorstep—with living soil and healthy earth!
Our field tours take place in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Since we’ll be outdoors, please wear weather-appropriate clothing—sun protection if it’s hot and rain gear if it gets wet.
If you have any special requests, such as hosting an online event, or if you’re unable to visit the Weltacker during our standard hours, please indicate this in your inquiry.
The Weltacker is accessible without any steps. In rainy weather, maneuvering a wheelchair can be a bit difficult—we’re happy to help!
We want everyone to be able to visit Weltacker—including groups that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the visit. Thanks to funding from the Senate Department of Justice and Consumer Protection, we’re able to offer these tours.
If your school or group can cover the cost of 150 € per tour on your own, we’d appreciate your support!
